Nowadays, just about any holster company can accommodate an optic ready firearm by cutting out the top portion of a holster. Most holster companies will cut the holster down, sacrificing the sweatshield in order to allow the gun to fully seat in the holster with the mounted optic. But that does nothing for comfort while carrying and even less for protection of the optic.

Covering the RMSc Red Dot Sight

Our Inside the Waistband Holsters- both IWB and AIWB- cover the RMSC completely while maintaining a full sweat shield for protection when holstering.

The sweat shield extends to protect the body from pinching- an unfortunate result that can sometimes happen when re-holstering with a slide mounted optic.

As you can see, the sweat shield extends to the very top rear of the slide, offering more sweat protection than most holsters on the market. The sweatshield extends slightly past the top side of the slide, to provide a barrier between the optic and body when sliding the gun into the holster.

The above picture illustrates the optic coverage: the IWB Holster full covers the optic with minimal negative space for optimum concealability. While the clip is raised from the holster body to provide enough relief for the hardware, the clip is placed in an optimal position for keeping the grip in towards the body, preventing the holster from printing while carrying concealed.

Adjustable Holster Retention

All of our Holsters come standard with an Adjustable Military Grade Rubber Retention System. While all products are set with a standard retention at the factory, this retention system was designed by us and custom made for our products. The system is able to hold very minute adjustments, meaning that the retention is fully customizable to your preferred resistance.

A simple twist of the screwdriver will allow you to make adjustments. We highly recommend checking the retention every quarter turn for the perfect setting. Once you find your preferred setting, use a small amount of Loctite or Vibratite to secure the screws.

RMSc Red Dot Sight Specs

Parallax free, clear polymer optic, which can withstand up to ten times greater shock impact than products using glass optics. Unlike many competing products, the RMS is designed without a red reflective filter on the lens to ensure minimal visual signature. The sight body is made from aerospace-grade aluminum and has an anodized matte black finish. Variable intensity drive circuit that senses target light levels and controls LED output giving optimum visibility of the dot against the target. Available in different dot sizes, tailored to your application. The RMS fits all mounts readily available for the SMS. The RMS is available with an optional battery draw that allows you to change the battery without having to unmount the sight.

Does Covering the Red Dot Sight Effect Concealability?

In short, no. The optic generally sits above the belt line and as there is already a protrusion from the optic, covering it will not cause printing, especially for right handed shooters where the belt buckle draws the attention away from that area.

Can any Red Dot Sight be Covered?

No. Currently we are offering only the Walther PPS M2 RMSc in our Optic Covered Holster configuration, however as more optic-ready firearms hit the market, we will be expanding our offerings.
