STANDARD

Dara Holsters manufactures firearm-specific OWB holsters for concealed carry, everyday carry, range use and general belt carry. Designed for handguns without a weapon-mounted light, our standard outside-the-waistband holsters are molded around specific firearm models to provide a secure fit, adjustable retention and consistent positioning on the belt.

What Is an OWB Holster?

An OWB holster, or outside-the-waistband holster, carries the handgun on the outside of the pants with the holster attached to the belt. OWB carry provides easy access to the firearm and can be used for everyday carry, concealed carry under an appropriate cover garment, range training and general use.

Unlike a universal holster, Dara OWB holsters are made using firearm-specific tooling. The holster you receive is built for the handgun selected when ordering rather than relying on a single holster body intended to accommodate unrelated firearm models.

Can You Conceal an OWB Holster?

Yes. An OWB holster can be used for concealed carry when paired with an appropriate cover garment and belt setup. Because the holster rides outside the waistband, firearm size, ride height, cant angle, belt attachment and clothing can all affect concealment.

Shooters primarily concerned with maximum concealment may prefer an IWB holster, while an OWB holster is often preferred when comfort, access and carrying the firearm outside the waistband are priorities.

Standard vs. Light-Bearing OWB Holsters

Standard OWB holsters are designed for handguns without a weapon-mounted light. If your handgun is equipped with a supported weapon light, choose a Light-Bearing OWB Holster designed around the specific firearm and light combination.

Selecting the correct configuration is important because adding a weapon light changes the dimensions and retention points used by the holster.

Firearm-Specific OWB Holster Fit

Dara OWB holsters are available for hundreds of handgun configurations from manufacturers including Glock, SIG Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Walther, Springfield Armory, FN, CZ and more.

Popular supported platforms include firearms such as the Glock 17, Glock 19, Glock 45, SIG Sauer P320, SIG Sauer P365, Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0, Walther PDP, Springfield Echelon, FN 509 and CZ P-10 families, depending on the options currently available when ordering.

Each holster is optics ready and designed with clearance for supported pistol-mounted red-dot optics and taller sights.

Adjustable OWB Carry Setup

Ride height and cant determine where the handgun sits on the belt and the angle at which it is carried. Dara OWB holsters are available with multiple belt attachment options and configurable ride-height and cant options so shooters can set up the holster around their preferred carry position.

Retention is also adjustable, allowing the user to control the amount of resistance during the draw while maintaining the firearm-specific fit of the holster.
