Compatibility
We offer a variety of Light bearing OWB Holsters here at Dara Holsters. To check and see if we offer the configuration you currently have, checkout our list of Supported Firearms. We keep this list of configurations up to date with all of our newest offerings added as soon as the molds are finished.

We support all of the most popular Firearm models and WML models from manufacturers like Streamlight, Surefire, and Modlite. A related side note: all of our OWB Holsters (and all holsters we offer!) are cut to accommodate your slide mounted optic and raised, suppressor height sights measuring up to .5" tall.
A note on compatibility: the holsters are molded for your exact light configuration and with our tolerances, will not fit another model. If you don't see your exact setup, contact our customer support for help, or submit a configuration on our Firearm Request Form.
Our Light bearing Holsters are designed to be used with the light. Trying to retain your non light bearing pistol in a light bearing holster will result in a poor fit.
Retention and Security
We offer both level 1 and level 2 retention holsters with light compatibility. If you're using the holster for EDC, level 1 retention- which has adjustable resistence- would be suitable for you. Any physical activites where you're performing static movements (ie: not climbing, jumping or crawling) will not require a level 2 retention holster. For example: the most popular IDPA holster we sell is our Action Sport Holster.
If you're going to be competiting in more rigorous tactical competitions, we recommend getting a Light bearing Level 2 Holster with a second level of security for those dynamic movements. The base of the holster still offers adjustable retention, but the rotating hood keeps the firearm from accidentally falling out when you have to spring or scale walls.
Note: In any light bearing holster that's not a universal fit, the retention is usually on the light/rail area. Light bearing holsters will sound different when being holstered or unholstered, due to the retention point now being manufactured in a different area, rather than on the trigger guard as it would be in a standard, non light bearing holster.
Our Light bearing Level 2 Holster is also duty rated- with the holster and attachments being rigorously tested and boasting some of the highest break away points on the market.

Mounting & Attachment Options
We offer a huge variety of belt attachments, molle attachments, drop attachments and even vehicle mounting solutions for our Light bearing Holsters.
For a look at our best and newest OWB Holster attachment: the DBL2, checkout this video on How to Choose your DBL2 Setup:
In 2025, we've decided to upgrade all of our attachment systems. So attachments like the Double Loop, Straight Drop, etc. are all being phased out in favor of newer aluminum attachments like the DBL2 series.
Material Build & Quality
Our holsters are made using .093" thick material (level 1 retention) and .125" thick material (level 2 retention). Depending on the color or pattern we use either Kydex or Boltaron brand thermoform plastic.

You've heard it before, most companies and customers throw out the phrase "kydex holster" as if the term refers to a category or style of holster. In reality, they're actually unknowingly referring to a company that manufactures the thermoform plastic used in holster making, instead of the type of holster.
What a lot of holster manufacturers neglect to mention on their website, is that they may also be using Boltaron®, another manufacturer of thermoform plastics. Large reputable companies often use both materials, Alien Gear Holsters being one of the companies that specifies Boltaron® in their literature.
Conclusion
We offer a large variety of Light bearing OWB Holsters for a wide variety of different uses. For EDC We recommend the Light bearing OWB Holster or Light bearing Paddle Holster. For range use or IDPA style static matches, checkout the Light bearing Action Sport Holster. For Duty or Tactical Style aaplications, go for the Light bearing Level 2 Retention Holster.
