SIG Sauer Firearms & Holster Compatibility Guide
SIG Sauer produces one of the broadest and most configurable handgun lineups on the market, with pistol families including the P226, P229, P320 and P365. Within those families are different sizes, generations, frame and grip-module designs, slide lengths, accessory rails, optics configurations and other variations that can affect holster fit.
Dara Holsters supports a wide range of SIG Sauer pistols for concealed carry, OWB, competition and duty use. This guide explains the SIG models currently supported by Dara Holsters, known fit relationships, weapon-light compatibility and some of the important differences that customers should understand before ordering a SIG holster.
Important SIG Holster Fit Note: Do not assume that two SIG pistols will fit the same holster simply because they share the same model designation or belong to the same model family. SIG has produced numerous configurations of pistols such as the P226, P320 and P365, and differences in the frame, grip module, slide, accessory rail and controls can affect holster compatibility.

Why SIG Sauer Holster Fit Can Be Complicated
Not every SIG with the same model name is dimensionally identical. This is especially important with long-running pistol families such as the P226 and highly modular platforms such as the P320.
Over the production life of a firearm, manufacturers may introduce different frames, accessory rails, controls, slides, grips and other components while retaining the same basic model designation. With SIG pistols, these differences can be significant enough to affect a tightly formed firearm-specific holster.
For example, an older P226 should not automatically be assumed to fit a holster made around the P226 configuration currently used by Dara for tooling. Two pistols may both say "P226" on the slide while having differences that matter at the holster interface.
There has long been discussion among SIG owners about production variations and parts changes within SIG model families. You may even encounter speculation that SIG simply uses whatever compatible components are available during production. We do not treat that claim as an established manufacturing fact. What can be established is that SIG has produced numerous factory configurations and has changed or expanded components, grips, rails and other features over the production life of several pistol families.
SIG's own documentation illustrates this evolution. For example, SIG states that the E2 versions of the P220, P226 and P229 began as limited-production pistols, but customer response to the E2 ergonomic grip led SIG to incorporate those features into the regular P220, P226 and P229 lineups.
For holster fit, the actual configuration of the firearm matters more than the name engraved on the slide.
SIG P226 Holster Compatibility
The SIG P226 is one of SIG Sauer's longest-running full-size pistol platforms, and that history is exactly why P226 holster compatibility deserves additional attention.
Dara currently supports compatible non-SAO P226 configurations with standard and light-bearing holster options. Current supported weapon-light configurations include the Streamlight TLR-1 and SureFire X300U-B.
The P226 MK25 is not currently supported by Dara Holsters.
Customers with older P226 pistols should verify their exact firearm before ordering. An older P226 may not fit exactly like the P226 used to develop Dara's current holster tooling. Rail configuration, controls, frame configuration and other production differences can matter when the holster is closely formed around the firearm.
This is why Dara does not recommend ordering based solely on the words "P226." If you own an older, unusual or discontinued P226 configuration, verify compatibility before ordering.
SIG P229 Holster Compatibility
Dara currently supports the P229 E2 with full rear slide serrations. Supported light-bearing configurations include the Streamlight TLR-1 and SureFire X300U-B.
As with the P226, the P229 has existed in multiple configurations over its production history. Customers should identify their specific P229 rather than assuming every pistol carrying the P229 designation will have identical external geometry.
SIG P320 Family & Holster Compatibility
The P320 is an especially important example of why the words "SIG P320" are not enough to determine holster compatibility.
The P320 was designed around a removable Fire Control Unit, or FCU. SIG's own operator documentation provides instructions for removing the fire control assembly from the grip module, and SIG currently sells numerous factory grip modules that accept P320 FCUs.
This modular construction allows different grip modules, slides and other components to be configured around the P320 FCU. SIG itself sells standard polymer, X-Series, AXG aluminum and TXG tungsten-infused grip modules, among other configurations.
For example, SIG's AXG Carry grip module is manufactured from aluminum alloy and uses interchangeable grip panels and a backstrap. The TXG Full grip module uses tungsten-infused polymer, while SIG also offers conventional polymer Full Size grip modules. All may belong to the broader P320 ecosystem, but they are not physically identical products.
That modularity is valuable to P320 owners, but it also makes identifying the exact firearm configuration particularly important when ordering a molded holster.
Supported Dara P320 Configurations
Dara currently supports numerous members of the P320 family, including the P320 Full Size, Compact, M17, M18, XCarry, XCompact, XFull, X5 Legion and select AXG configurations.
Current light-bearing options across supported P320 configurations include combinations with the Streamlight TLR-1, TLR-7A/TLR-7X, TLR-8, SureFire X300U-B and Modlite PL350. Availability varies by exact firearm configuration.
Dara's current P320 fit guide specifically identifies the P320 Full Size/RXP/RXZP, M17, Compact, M18, Legion, AXG, XCompact, XCarry, XFull and X5 Legion rather than treating "P320" as one universal firearm.
Aftermarket P320 Grip Modules Can Change Holster Fit
The modular P320 platform has also created a large aftermarket for replacement grip modules. A P320 FCU installed into a different grip module should not automatically be assumed to fit a holster designed around the original SIG factory configuration.
Dara's current firearm compatibility list specifically states that its standard P320 holster fit does not include P80, Icarus Precision or Mirzon frames.
This is an important distinction: the serialized P320 FCU may still make the firearm a P320, but changing the external grip module can change the geometry that interfaces with the holster.
P320 XCompact & XCarry Fit
Dara's current compatibility guide instructs P320 XCompact owners to order the XCarry configuration. Because of the difference in slide length, the holster will extend beyond the muzzle of the shorter XCompact.
This is a good example of two pistols being compatible with the same Dara holster body even though their overall dimensions are not identical.
SIG M17 & M18 Holster Compatibility
The M17 and M18 are members of the P320 family. Dara classifies the M17 with its Full Size P320 fit and the M18 with its Compact P320 fit.
SIG's documentation likewise demonstrates their P320 architecture. SIG's current P320 operator manual identifies the M17 and M18 frame assemblies as consisting of a Fire Control Unit installed into a grip module, and SIG lists replacement P320 grip modules as compatible with P320, M17 and M18 configurations.
Dara currently offers P320 holsters that accommodate the P320 Full Size/M17 and P320 Compact/M18 configurations.

SIG P365 Family & Holster Compatibility
SIG introduced the P365 in 2018 as a micro-compact 9mm pistol. Dara began preparing P365 holster production shortly after the pistol's introduction and announced production of its P365 holsters in February 2018.
The P365 family subsequently expanded well beyond the original pistol. Dara has manufactured holsters for configurations including the P365, P365 XL and P365 XMacro, with current firearm support also including newer configurations such as the Fuse.
As with the P320, customers should not assume that every firearm carrying the P365 name fits exactly the same holster. Changes in slide length, grip-module dimensions, accessory rails and aftermarket frames can affect fit.
Dara's current compatibility guide specifically identifies the Icarus Precision frame as incompatible with its standard P365 holster fit.
SIG P365 & P365 XL
The original P365 and longer P365 XL illustrate how pistols can share a platform while having different dimensions. When SIG introduced the P365 XL, it used an extended 3.7-inch barrel and XSeries grip module with an extended beavertail and integrated magwell.
Dara currently offers a P365/XL Minimalist Holster with separate selections for the P365 and P365 XL, as well as dedicated P365 IWB configurations.
SIG P365 XMacro
The P365 XMacro represents another distinct configuration within the P365 family. Dara currently supports the P365 XMacro with select configurations, including Streamlight TLR-7A/TLR-7X light-bearing options.
Customers should select the XMacro specifically rather than assuming a standard P365 holster will accommodate it.

Why Grip Modules Matter to SIG Holster Fit
The P320 provides one of the clearest examples of how grip-module construction can change a pistol while retaining the same basic model family.
SIG currently manufactures P320 grip modules in several materials and configurations. Its standard Full Size module uses polymer, the AXG Carry module uses aluminum alloy and the TXG module uses tungsten-infused polymer. SIG also offers Full Size X-Series modules and other specialized configurations.
SIG even notes compatibility differences within its own component ecosystem. For example, SIG states that certain X-Series grip modules require newer-style magazine basepads, while older magazines with different locking-tab configurations may require modification or newer basepads.
The takeaway for holster selection is simple: modularity does not mean universal holster compatibility. A firearm can still be a P320 while having external dimensions or features that differ from the P320 configuration used to manufacture a particular holster.
SIG Weapon Light Compatibility
Light-bearing holster fit depends on both the firearm and the weapon-mounted light. Dara's current SIG compatibility guide includes supported configurations using lights such as the Streamlight TLR-1, TLR-7A/TLR-7X and TLR-8, SureFire X300U-B and Modlite PL350.
Support varies by firearm. For example, current P226 and P229 E2 options include the TLR-1 and X300U-B, while the P320 family supports a broader selection of weapon lights depending on the exact configuration. The standard P365 is currently listed with the TLR-6, while the P365 XMacro is listed with the TLR-7A/TLR-7X.
Always match both the exact SIG model and weapon light to a combination specifically listed by Dara. Do not assume a light-bearing holster will remain compatible simply because the firearm itself has not changed.
SIG Optics & Holster Compatibility
SIG offers optics-ready configurations throughout several modern pistol families, including P320 RXP models and numerous P365 variants. Dara also manufactures optic-ready holsters for supported SIG configurations.
Optic size and position can matter to holster clearance. Dara's current P320 holsters, for example, provide a separate selection for firearms equipped with the Trijicon SRO or RMR HD because those optics require a deeper optic cut.
This is another reason customers should provide the complete firearm configuration rather than simply selecting "P320."
In-Stock & Made-to-Order SIG Holsters
Dara's SIG catalog includes both dedicated in-stock holsters and SIG firearm selections within broader made-to-order products. Current quick-ship options include configurations for popular pistols such as the P320 and P365.
The absence of a dedicated in-stock product page does not necessarily mean Dara cannot manufacture a holster for a particular SIG configuration. Customers should check the firearm selections available on the applicable made-to-order product page.
At the same time, a similar model name should never be used as a substitute for confirmed compatibility. If a specific SIG configuration is not listed, contact Dara before ordering rather than selecting the closest-sounding model.
Why Dara Takes SIG Fit Identification Seriously
Dara Holsters develops firearm-specific tooling around the actual external geometry of the pistols its holsters are intended to fit. That becomes particularly important with a manufacturer such as SIG Sauer because a single model family can include numerous sizes, frames, grip modules, slide configurations and generations.
Dara's P320 product pages specifically instruct customers to choose their exact make and model and warn that failing to disclose details that influence the external dimensions of the firearm can result in a fitment issue.
That is also why this guide distinguishes between models such as P320 Full Size, Compact, M17, M18, XCarry, XCompact, XFull, X5 Legion and AXG instead of grouping every pistol under a single "P320 holster" designation.
Dara Holsters' Experience With SIG Sauer Pistols
SIG pistols are not simply firearms listed in Dara's product dropdown. They are platforms used personally by members of the Dara team. How Dara Determines SIG Holster Compatibility
Firearm dimensions can help identify differences between SIG models, but dimensions alone are not enough to establish Dara holster compatibility. Dara's compatibility information is based on the actual firearm configurations used to develop our tooling and the models specifically identified in our current product catalog.
Dara Holsters owns the actual firearms used to develop and verify our holster fits. Rather than determining compatibility from published dimensions alone, we physically fit our holsters to the firearms they were designed around. Each holster is also test fit with the appropriate firearm before it leaves our facility, allowing us to verify fit and retention before the holster is shipped to the customer.
SIG Sauer is the primary source for specifications and factory configuration information about SIG firearms. Dara Holsters is the primary source for determining which of those configurations fit a Dara holster. When we state that a particular SIG configuration fits—or does not fit—one of our holsters, that determination is based on our tooling, the firearms in our possession and physical fit testing.
This distinction is especially important with modular firearms. Two P320 pistols can use the same basic FCU architecture while having different grip modules, slides or other external components. Similarly, two P226 pistols manufactured during different periods should not automatically be assumed to have identical holster fit simply because both are marked P226.
If your SIG has an aftermarket frame or grip module, unusual factory configuration, discontinued configuration or significant modification that changes its external dimensions, verify compatibility before ordering.
