The Dara FN 509 Full Size OWB Holster is built specifically for the full-size configuration of FN's 509 pistol platform. Designed and manufactured in the USA, this holster uses Dara's established FN 509 tooling and is produced for the specific length of the firearm selected when ordering.

How the FN 509 Full Size Fits Dara Holsters

All supported FN 509 pistols use the same general Dara FN 509 holster body. The primary difference we account for across the family is firearm length.

Dara uses four CNC-cut holster lengths to accommodate the supported FN 509 configurations. This allows the holster to maintain the established 509 firearm fit while providing the appropriate muzzle coverage for Compact, Midsize, Full Size, Tactical and longer Edge configurations.

FN 509 Full Size vs. Other 509 Models

The FN 509 name covers pistols with substantially different dimensions. FN's specifications place shorter Compact models around 6.8 inches overall, while the 509 family extends through longer Tactical and LS Edge configurations.

That variation is why Dara identifies the specific 509 being carried and matches it with the appropriate CNC-cut holster length.

The result is one established FN 509 fit family that can accommodate multiple factory configurations without pretending those firearms are all physically identical.

Optics-Ready FN 509 OWB Holster

The FN 509 family includes numerous optics-ready MRD, Tactical and Edge configurations. Dara's FN 509 holster platform is designed with modern slide-mounted optics in mind and provides clearance for supported optic-equipped configurations.

If your specific 509 is an MRD or another optics-equipped model, select the firearm configuration listed for your pistol when ordering.

Using a Threaded or Extended Barrel?

Barrel length should be considered when configuring any FN 509 holster.

If your supported FN 509 has a threaded or extended barrel and you want the threaded portion completely covered inside the holster, select the next longer available length option.

Because Dara uses four CNC-cut lengths within the FN 509 holster platform, customers have more flexibility in determining how much muzzle and barrel coverage they want.

Firearm-Specific Fit Matters

Holster compatibility involves more than comparing the overall length of two pistols. Frame dimensions, trigger guard geometry, slide profile, controls and other firearm geometry all influence how a pistol interacts with the holster.
