I’ll start with the short version, which is that this holster hit a home run for me. After looking around for a Ruger 57 holster, I couldn’t find any that didn’t look like cheap junk, and I stumbled across this one, having never used a Dara product previously. I was a little hesitant at the price, but after looking at the customization options, and pondering it for a few weeks, I decided to just go for it. I went with OD green for my personal taste, in the level 2 duty version. I’m not any type of law enforcement or anything, but I wanted something that would absolutely not come out riding quads or mountain biking. This checks all the boxes, and then some. Because the custom to order fact, it took a couple weeks to ship as they tell you ahead of purchase, and it was at my door 4 days after. Every part of it is perfect, and functions exactly as it should. I loosened the retention just a touch for my personal preference, but the spring loaded top release works lightning fast, the retention is plenty strong for any weapon to stay put. The color is spot on, the material quality is great, I just really couldn’t be happier, and I understand after having it in person that the price point is exactly what it should be for something of this level of quality. I will be ordering from Dara moving forward after seeing this level of quality, that is so hard to find anymore.

I checked with customer service about the compatibility, and appreciate that they were honest and said they had not tested with the non-xl 380. From other discussions, I felt pretty confident, so went ahead, and it turned out great. With minimal adjustment (tightening the tension a bit), it snaps in tight, and the flip retention easily clears the holosun 507k that is mounted. There is extra room beneath the barrel, but that gives me option to switch out to an xl later, if desired. It's a little unusual to put such a small gun in a level II holster, but I wanted the same draw profile as my patrol weapon so I can swap out with the quick mount on the belt for less bulk or on the vest if running ropes and rifle. Very satisfied.

You simply cannot go wrong with their Level 2 Duty Holster. The friction retention is adjustable, material incredibly durable, fits most any of the handgun optics that are run now. The push button retention release is intuitive. I've run some of the competition in the past but other holsters are like eating hamburgers when you could eat a DARA steak at the same price. I've bought two DARA setups at this point and I'm not going back.

I have had a couple different duty holsters from time to time and I just have to say this holster is far superior than the others I have had. The quality and craftsmanship of this holster proves that America still puts out the best! You can tell that there was attention to detail involved on every aspect. The hardware is heavy duty. Placement of this holster just makes sense with positions of mounts and other attachments to the belt ( ALQD, double loop, drop offset). I bought all three mounts because I was not sure what I would personally like and feel good about. But even trying all three different mounting options to my belt, I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted to use because they all were awesome. The Kydex is of great quality as well. You all have a great product and I’m looking forward to doing a lot more business with you very soon! Thank you!
