Dara's Level II Duty Holster is not just any OWB Holster with a hood slapped on it. It was designed from the ground up for the rigors of duty and guaranteed for life. Starting with a robust body formed using .125" purpose blended Polymers, then fastened with blackened stainless steel hardware. This rig utilizes our tried and true adjustable Rubber Retention System that allows you to tune the resistance to your preferred draw stroke.

Our auto throw hood is locked in place until the intuitively located thumb lever is depressed. The hood then rotates with enough force to move loose garment, making your firearm ready when you need it. Don't settle for less- if you demand quality and endless reliability, you've found it.

Be sure to checkout out our OWB Magazine Carriers, as well as our IWB Holsters for your backup gun.

Please choose your exact make and model. Failure to mention any details that influence the external dimensions of your firearm will result in a fitment issue.

    Awesome holster

Being ex military I’ve used many types and brands of holsters. This is by far the best operating and perfect fit. Keep up the kick ass work.

I've been waiting for a while to get this holster I finally chose this over a safari land and this did not disappoint In my opinion this is hands down the best duty holster I have ever tried. It met my expectations amazingly and hope that when I get My TRL-1 pistol light I can have the holster made by DARA to accommodate it

    P229 with Romeo1

Let's see if this review makes it to the site. This is a great duty holster when you have an optic mounted. There are a couple of minor issues, but nothing that would keep me from recommending it. First, love the retention system (and release). My partner (who also carries this holster) commented the shroud should have a "less plastic look" to it, but the fit and function are superb. Thumbs up! The holster pretty much has to go on a duty belt. I tried it on my CCW belt first, and even though there was no play in the holster's belt loop area, the holster was very unstable (pulling away from my leg during the draw stroke) which impeded the draw. The leg strap would have reduced that, but my organization doesn't allow them to be used. YMMV. Thumbs sideways. Putting it on the duty belt solved most of the "pulling away from the leg" instability, even without the leg strap. Thumbs up! The portion of the holster mount that the leg strap threads through is longer than most duty holsters - my partner finds his presses uncomfortably into his thigh and causes bilateral sciatica pain. He's decided (since he can't use the leg strap either) he may have to cut away that portion of the holster mount. Again, YMMV - I haven't had that issue personally. Thumbs sideways. The holster does stand out from my side quite a bit further than my previous duty holster (a Saf***land on a QLS mount), so it clears the vest easily on the draw stroke. Unfortunately it also makes sitting in a vehicle a bit more cramped and less comfortable (and I'm not a huge guy - 5'11", about 195#). Thumbs sideways. Adjustability? You can make some modifications to the cant by unmounting and remounting the holster. Nothing vertical, though. It rides pretty high, so if you're used to a mid- to low-ride holster you're going to have to get used to that. Thumbs up (for me)! Durability? Well, I've only been carrying it for a little over a week, so I can't honestly comment on that. No thumbs. Price and speed of delivery? Priced right, and much faster than the projection (I had mine within a week of dropping the order). Thumbs up! The good news? There's no thumbs downs. Recommendations for consideration by the manufacturer? Maybe dress up the hood just a bit, and consider a second mount option that's a little stiffer and a little shorter (without the leg strap). All in all this seems to be a pretty good piece of gear, and it was about the only level 2 duty holster I could find (besides the Bla***awk Omn***re) that would take my P229 with an RMR. My partner and I will be putting these through their paces, but you know how it goes - there probably won't be any updates from us on this gear. I recommended it to my partner (before I had tried it) and I recommend it to you (after having tried it). Stay safe!

    Fn 509 tactical holster

I had never heard of Dara holsters before and there are very few reviews on the internet about them so I took a chance and I am very impressed with the quality of materials and the build I was expecting a very flimsy kydex holster but this very sturdy and better built than even Blackhawk. The only thing I wish they would add is a thumb shield for the thumb release. But otherwise I am very happy and impressed!!!

    CUSTOM LEVEL II DUTY HOLSTER

Perfect fit, I have been using it for more than a week and I am extremely happy with my purchase. It is very durable and came out of the box with no need to tighten or loosen the retention. I Will definitely be shopping here again in the future.

    Badass Holster!!!

Highly modifiable to your liking and fit. Seems pretty damn durable also. Have used it at work, on duty for a lil bit now and sitting Nd moving around with it on isn’t a problem as long as you got a good gun belt. Polly end up buying another Dara holster eventually for my other pistols. Definitely recommend!!!

    Pleased customer

I have been searching for a duty holsters for my IWI Masada, but haven't had much luck finding one. I stumbled across Dara Holsters online and found out I could have a custom duty holster made for it. Awesome durable product and looking forward to see how it holds up over time.
