The Dara Level 2 Duty Holster is designed for law enforcement, military personnel, armed security professionals, and civilian shooters requiring active retention. Our Level 2 Holster combines active hood retention with adjustable passive retention. The firearm remains secured until the hood release is intentionally activated by the user. Unlike other "Retention OWB holsters" that merely add a third party rotating hood, our level 2 holster integrates advanced retention features and durable construction, designed in house and backed by a lifetime guarantee.

    Built from .125" Kydex or Boltaron, purpose-blended polymer injection molded components and assembled with Black Oxide coated stainless steel hardware, this holster ensures unbeatable strength and longevity in any environment- guaranteed.

  2. Retention System
    Customize the draw stroke to your preference with the passive EPDM rubber retention, the active retention hood locks firmly in place until you activate the thumb lever—enabling a quick, smooth release. To customize the thumb lever, see our Level 2 Control Kit.

  3. Optics & Sight Compatibility
    Our holsters are designed to accommodate most slide-mounted optics and suppressor-height sights, ensuring versatility for various duty or tactical setups. The REGULAR HOOD can accommodate optics up to 1.2" tall when measured from the top of the slide to the top of the optic. Anything taller, will require the LARGE HOOD. If your optic measures in between, we recommend sizing up. For the Trijicon SRO and RMR HD, please check the box for deeper optic cut.

  4. Customizable Drop & Cant
    Adjust the ride height and cant angles on our belt attachments for optimal comfort and draw efficiency. Add an optional leg strap for extra stability, especially during high-intensity operations. Our DBL2 & DBL2-L Attachments allow for a 10° forward and 10° backwards cant angle adjustment.

  5. Attachment Options
    Choose from our numerous belt attachments and drops, including the DBL2 or DBL2-L Attachment Systems. Both options provide clearance for body armor and a natural draw stroke, making this level 2 holster ideal for professional use. All attachments accommodate belt widths measuring 1.5" - 2.25".

  6. Third Party Compatibility
    For those running attachment systems from other companies, The Bridge™ Adapter allows the user to connect our Holsters to most third party belt attachments.

    Got the lvl 2 duty holster for my sig 1911 emperor scorpion with a viridian laser, and wow I was surprised by how well it formed around! My sig is snug and happy. Also love the thumb throw and also the black leather texture looks real. From ordering online to my door step in Oregon it took two months which was the downside, besides that 5 stars any day!

    I just bought this Level 2 Duty Holster, my 2nd holster from Dara. These are great products. Custom build wait times, but well worth the wait. I have a few pieces of furniture on my Glock 20, and the holster is a perfect fit. It will stand up to years of abuse. I recommend Dara to my friends.

    Arrived 5 days ago and is just what I need. I ordered a 22.5 degree forward cant for my everyday OWB here on the ranch and range. This holster is slim enough to Conceal Carry everyday in the colder months and possibly in Summer heat. I can ride my quad or motorcycle with out worrying about losing my firearm and also sitting with little discomfort.Very well made holster, Don A.

    I have a Walther ppq 45 and was having a very hard time finding a good retention holster. My Duty Holster for my Glock 21 I carry at work is a Safariland and I wanted something similar for my personal carry 45 because I don't want to have to have to think about what I'm doing too much if I get in an, " oh shit " moment. I ordered the level 2 from Dara back in September. I have an attached Crimson trace rail master and didn't want to have to remove it to carry in a retention holster. A rather well built level 2 custom holster arrived in the mail the other day that was built just for my setup. Have to say that I am very pleased with the job Dara did. It looks great and functions perfectly. When I am in the market for another holster, I'm coming back to Dara! Great work and well worth the wait!

    I have a box full of holsters that were supposed to fit my pistol and myself, but always had to dig out the cheap nylon one that I hate only because it fits, sort of. well now I finally have a holster that fits both me and my pistol.

    Don't make the same mistake I did! I forgot to specify that I use a left handed mag-release on my PPQ (with the mag release button on the right-hand side of the grip.) Consequently, whenever I holstered my pistol the mag would jump out! Fortunately, the great folks at Dara's kindly fixed my problem quickly and at no extra charge. Great holster, holds my pistol nice and snug and tough enough to hold up when it lives in my range bag.

    I shopped long and hard before deciding on Dara Holsters. I exchanged emails with the company and they responded quickly. I liked the personalized customer service. They made six custom holsters for me and every one of them was perfect. And all this for less than the cost of a mass produced holster. Quality takes time. There is a lead time, but that is to be expected with a custom holster. These holsters are well worth the wait.
