The Dara Level 2 Duty Holster is designed for law enforcement, military personnel, armed security professionals, and civilian shooters requiring active retention. Our Level 2 Holster combines active hood retention with adjustable passive retention. The firearm remains secured until the hood release is intentionally activated by the user. Unlike other "Retention OWB holsters" that merely add a third party rotating hood, our level 2 holster integrates advanced retention features and durable construction, designed in house and backed by a lifetime guarantee.

Built from .125" Kydex or Boltaron, purpose-blended polymer injection molded components and assembled with Black Oxide coated stainless steel hardware, this holster ensures unbeatable strength and longevity in any environment- guaranteed.
Retention System
Customize the draw stroke to your preference with the passive EPDM rubber retention, the active retention hood locks firmly in place until you activate the thumb lever—enabling a quick, smooth release. To customize the thumb lever, see our Level 2 Control Kit.
Optics & Sight Compatibility
Our holsters are designed to accommodate most slide-mounted optics and suppressor-height sights, ensuring versatility for various duty or tactical setups. The REGULAR HOOD can accommodate optics up to 1.2" tall when measured from the top of the slide to the top of the optic. Anything taller, will require the LARGE HOOD. If your optic measures in between, we recommend sizing up. For the Trijicon SRO and RMR HD, please check the box for deeper optic cut.
Customizable Drop & Cant
Adjust the ride height and cant angles on our belt attachments for optimal comfort and draw efficiency. Add an optional leg strap for extra stability, especially during high-intensity operations. Our DBL2 & DBL2-L Attachments allow for a 10° forward and 10° backwards cant angle adjustment.
Attachment Options
Choose from our numerous belt attachments and drops, including the DBL2 or DBL2-L Attachment Systems. Both options provide clearance for body armor and a natural draw stroke, making this level 2 holster ideal for professional use. All attachments accommodate belt widths measuring 1.5" - 2.25".

Great fitting holster 5

I received my holster today for my newly purchased VP9. The fit was perfect with no adjustments necessary. I work as a court bailiff and carry as part of my duties. Retention strap is great extra and is easily manipulated for quick address. Great holster. Definitely worth the money.

Custom made for my Walther PPQ M2 5". NO one makes holster for it much less a duty holster. This is my day to day Duty holster and perfect for the job. Clears my sights, smooth draw, doesn't scratch my sidearm and makes for a perfect fit. The only thing I would change, is the thumb release for the level II Duty Holster. It puts your hand in an awkward position for a grab and draw. I would like to change it to the thumb press similar to the Safariland. The thumb press level II allows you to grip your gun and release the retention in one motion.

I am a Deputy Sheriff in central Iowa. I bought a TLR-4 light for my duty Glock 22. The hard part was finding a new holster. NONE of the big name company's made a holster that would fit the light attachment. I even checked out other custom build sights and same thing. Luckily I came across Dara holsters!!! They can custom fit anything. I was a little nervous when I ordered but I can honestly say I will ONLY order from them now on. My gun/light fit in perfect. My duty belt is noticeably lighter because kydex is thinner/lighter than leather. For $4 more I added the carbon fiber texture and it looks awesome. Matches the basketweave design with the rest of my belt. Also with the design of their double loop belt attachment the holster fits much closer to my side, which I love. It is a very fast draw as well. I will be buying the double mag carrier and a few IWB holsters very soon. THANKS DARA HOLSTERS!!!

I love this holster! The fit is amazing. Took the full five weeks to make it and received it on week six, but you can tell that it is truly made for your firearm; fully adjustable tension and spent a few extra to get the carbon fiber for an amazing look.

My name is Mike I've been in Law Enforcement 18 plus years. In my years I have heat up most duty holsters on the market and felt with the companies that make them. I have also learned to work smarter not harder. So when I was looking to replace my duty holster, that just gave up on life. I looked at DARA. I'm glad I did. I asked for something they didn't even carry. I was sent the holster and right off the bat I was impressed. It held my weApon securly and solid. The workmanship was as perfect as you can get. Now I did have one problem I needed my space between me and the holster( jacket slogans offset). Jon hand made the attachment I needed. Now understand they didn't even offer this attachment. He made it, and tested over a weekend. This holster is the first one that I can honestly say is exactly what I wanted. I hope they offer this attachment to the rest of you. If not I will own the only one made by DARA! I dare anyone to out do the customer service this company has it can't be done. Thank you DARA! Look forward to do more business with you.

Couldn't find a level ll holster for my p238, yes I know it's a p238 but wanted something more secure to carry my gun specially when open carry right around the corner. Don't want carry a full size. 40 so I wanted option to where I could carry my Sig holster is a great fit.

I am very pleased with my holster. I wanted a holster with a more simple retention system than a level 3 holster. This holster fills the bill. I am even more impressed with the customer service. I had ordered my pistol with a carbon fiber finish. The pistol came with a mat finish. I called Dara holsters. This was on a Thursday. Monday morning I had a new holster in my mail box. You can't beat customer service like that.

Great Holster, The only company out there that is building custom level II holsters for the CZ PO7. I received mine only to find that it was right handed, when I had ordered a left handed holster. I called Dara, and the issue was resolved very quickly. They sent me a shipping label and the holster was sent back to me in a days time. Great product even better customer service.
