Light Bearing Level 2 Duty Holster

The Dara Light Bearing Level 2 Duty Holster is an outside-the-waistband (OWB) retention holster designed for pistols equipped with weapon-mounted lights. Built for law enforcement, military personnel, armed security, and professional duty use, it combines adjustable passive retention with an active, spring-operated rotating hood.

Each holster is individually thermoformed in-house from .125" Kydex or Boltaron for a specific firearm and weapon light combination. This firearm-specific construction provides a secure fit, protects the trigger guard, and accommodates compatible slide-mounted optics and suppressor-height sights.

Two Levels of Retention

Passive retention: Dara's adjustable rubber retention system allows the user to fine-tune the resistance during the draw.

Active retention: The rotating hood locks over the firearm until the thumb-operated release is depressed. The spring-loaded hood then rotates forward, helping clear loose garments and providing a consistent draw stroke.

Unlike holsters that use an aftermarket retention hood, Dara's Level 2 system was engineered in-house as a complete duty holster. Its retention components, hardware, and holster body are designed to work together.

Adjustable for Your Duty Setup

The Light Bearing Level 2 Duty Holster is compatible with the Dara Level 2 Control Kit, allowing users to customize the thumb release for their hand size, gloves, and personal preference.

Compatible Dara duty attachments, including the DBL2 and DBL2-L, provide options for adjusting ride height, cant, and clearance from body armor. The Bridge Adapter also supports compatible third-party mounting systems.

Every holster is manufactured and fit tested in-house and backed by Dara's Lifetime Warranty.

Optics & Sight Compatibility
Designed to accommodate slide-mounted optics and suppressor-height sights, ensuring versatility for various duty or tactical setups. The REGULAR HOOD can accommodate optics up to 1.2" tall when measured from the top of the slide to the top of the optic. Anything taller than that will require the LARGE HOOD. If your optic measures in between, we recommend sizing up. For the Trijicon SRO or RMR HD, please check the box for a deeper optic cut.
Customizable Draw
Adjust the ride height and cant angles for optimal comfort and draw efficiency. Add an optional leg strap for extra stability, especially during high-intensity operations.

Choose between our DBL2 or DBL2-L System, Both options provide clearance for body armor and a natural draw stroke, making this level 2 holster ideal for professional use. All attachments accommodate belt widths measuring 1.5" - 2.25".

Yes. We offer 2 rotating hood sizes to accommodate most optics on the market with very few exceptions. We also accommodate forward mounted optics such as the Trijicon RMR HD & Trijicon SRO.

Dara holsters delivered and came in clutch. As a lefty sporting an HK VP9L as my primary duty firearm. I had no luck finding a holster. DARA was able to make one to fit my needs. I have a Walther Pro SD Compact with a TLR-7A and this holster is an absolute perfect fit! Fit and finish is superb and the draw is great. I've had to do zero modifications to get the holster how I want. The Walther PDP 4" with TLR 7 in the drop down menu matches perfectly. Awesome holster that I'll trust my life with. Super fast response to my fitment question on instagram even though the team was exhausted from SHOT Show. Another win for Dara!

The holster is great it was the only one I could find that took a p320 with a TLR-9 attached and I really like it. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is the belt slide and drop offset could use some work to make them more robust. You should look at a belt attachment like a blackhawk that tightens down on the belt. This is a minor issue and the holster is still great.

I have had the Light Bearing Level II Duty Holster for a few days, now. So far, I am impressed. I like the quick release that Dara has designed. I was able.to mount the Dara base to my departmental supplied quick release platform (my department requires use of a specific Level III holster) so I can easily mount my holster for my off duty pistol, to my duty belt, so I can qualify without bringing my entire EDC rig for qualifying. I can just detach my duty holster, and click in my Data holster that accommodates my FNX45 with TLR1. The Dara Light Bearing Level II Holster completely covers the trigger and trigger guard all the way up to the grip of the pistol, where other holsters I've test driven, have a space you can easily work a finger into, to access the trigger. So far, I am impressed,.and next month I plan on getting some mag carriers, as I'm considering to start doing some competition shooting with my FNX45

This holster is honestly my favorite. The draw is smooth, the retention is immaculate, and you just can’t beat the action the hood makes to come down. All around fantastic, only thing is a wish it fit on safariland leg shroud. But it’s perfect.

I’ve bought and used THREE DARA duty holsters. The latest being the light bearing model. The belt slide wasn’t the most comfortable until I figured the best position on my belt. Now? Alls good to go.

Good drop to holster, great for duty, have to break holster in at first it is very tight on gun. But once it is ready it is a wonderful holster.

This is for my Glock 35 Gen 5 MOS. This is one terrific holster. It is well made and pistol fits perfectly and locks tight when you adjust for yours. Again, this is a fine holster, and I'm very happy with it and well worth the money.

I am a 20+ year LEO and have used plenty of holsters. I have an XR920 by Shadow Systems and this Holster fits perfectly even better than Blackhawk. The XR920 has a Holosun 507 Red Dot Optic and a Holosun P.ID light. This holster fits like a glove. I wish that they had been around sooner.

Overall not a bad holster. I liked that Dara put some thought into the holster by already configuring it to support a red dot. Well done! I gave it 4 stars because of two things. First the paddle has some rough edges on it could have been smoothed out better, so attention to detail lacked just a little bit. And second I wished the holster sat a little closer to the body, to be slightly less conspicuous. I know it's not meant to be a complete conceal carry holster but maybe food for thought on their next gen. I'll take a 1% royalty for the idea. Thanks Dara for an overall good holster.

The drop offset is a separate piece that connects the double loop to the holster. the drop offset drops the holster down and offsets the grip from the body.

An example of the quick loop and drop offset attachment. the quick loop hinges at the top and clips around the bottom of the belt with locking tabs to secure it in place. The drop offset is a separate piece that connects the quick loop to the holster. the drop offset drops the holster down and offsets the grip from the body.
