Light Bearing Level 2 Duty Holster

The Dara Light Bearing Level 2 Duty Holster is an outside-the-waistband (OWB) retention holster designed for pistols equipped with weapon-mounted lights. Built for law enforcement, military personnel, armed security, and professional duty use, it combines adjustable passive retention with an active, spring-operated rotating hood.

Each holster is individually thermoformed in-house from .125" Kydex or Boltaron for a specific firearm and weapon light combination. This firearm-specific construction provides a secure fit, protects the trigger guard, and accommodates compatible slide-mounted optics and suppressor-height sights.

Two Levels of Retention

Passive retention: Dara's adjustable rubber retention system allows the user to fine-tune the resistance during the draw.

Active retention: The rotating hood locks over the firearm until the thumb-operated release is depressed. The spring-loaded hood then rotates forward, helping clear loose garments and providing a consistent draw stroke.

Unlike holsters that use an aftermarket retention hood, Dara's Level 2 system was engineered in-house as a complete duty holster. Its retention components, hardware, and holster body are designed to work together.

Adjustable for Your Duty Setup

The Light Bearing Level 2 Duty Holster is compatible with the Dara Level 2 Control Kit, allowing users to customize the thumb release for their hand size, gloves, and personal preference.

Compatible Dara duty attachments, including the DBL2 and DBL2-L, provide options for adjusting ride height, cant, and clearance from body armor. The Bridge Adapter also supports compatible third-party mounting systems.

Every holster is manufactured and fit tested in-house and backed by Dara's Lifetime Warranty.

Optics & Sight Compatibility
Designed to accommodate slide-mounted optics and suppressor-height sights, ensuring versatility for various duty or tactical setups. The REGULAR HOOD can accommodate optics up to 1.2" tall when measured from the top of the slide to the top of the optic. Anything taller than that will require the LARGE HOOD. If your optic measures in between, we recommend sizing up. For the Trijicon SRO or RMR HD, please check the box for a deeper optic cut.
Customizable Draw
Adjust the ride height and cant angles for optimal comfort and draw efficiency. Add an optional leg strap for extra stability, especially during high-intensity operations.
Attachment Options
Choose between our DBL2 or DBL2-L System, Both options provide clearance for body armor and a natural draw stroke, making this level 2 holster ideal for professional use. All attachments accommodate belt widths measuring 1.5" - 2.25".

Purchased for my Sig P320 X5 Legion with TLR-1 and Romeo Pro-1 red dot sight. It is a perfect fit and very secure. The locking mechanism is smooth and after a little break in, draws are quick and consistent. Highly recommend.

This was my first purchase from Dara Holsters. Given the positive reviews here and elsewhere I decided to give them a try and was not disappointed. The construction, fitment and operation of the Level 2 Light Bearing holster is excellent! I specified the holster with the Double Loop and Drop Offset with a leg strap. This mounting system offers several adjustments for height and cant to customize the fit. I really like this holster because it feels very sturdy, and also retains the handgun well, I like the push button release, it acts quick and with inspect I feel like I don’t have to be concerned with it wearing out or breaking on me anytime soon, it’s very well built. The only thing is I wish it rode a little lower on my waist, but that could have easily been a lack of understanding on mounting hardware on my part. Great product!

I really like my Dara holsters. I had one of their regular level 2 holster for work and decided to upgrade to a light bearing holster. I was surprised to see so many options for my specific gun since it is pretty new as well. They are surprisingly low profile as well.

I was looking for a more slim holster for duty use, rather than the bulkier ones my coworker carry on their belts. I happened to stumble on Dara holsters while searching around on google, and I'm very satisfied that I order one for myself. I've had level 2 holsters and I prefer to use that on-duty, and my Dara holster is great. It's exactly what I was looking for, and I have no regret that I purchased one. I highly recommend it.

Was initially on the fence about spending this much on a holster when there are similar options for a fraction of the price, but Dara was one of the few manufacturers out there for a light-bearing Glock 40 with optic, so choices were limited. I felt better upon seeing the quality as soon as I received the holster, and having now trained with it, could not be happier that I stumbled upon Dara holsters as the functionality is absolutely superb. The security of my pistol when holstered paired with the ease of draw and natural operation of the flip lock make this one of the best holsters I've used. The drop offset is a separate piece that connects the double loop to the holster. the drop offset drops the holster down and offsets the grip from the body.
