Light Bearing Level 2 Duty Holster

The Dara Light Bearing Level 2 Duty Holster is an outside-the-waistband (OWB) retention holster designed for pistols equipped with weapon-mounted lights. Built for law enforcement, military personnel, armed security, and professional duty use, it combines adjustable passive retention with an active, spring-operated rotating hood.

Each holster is individually thermoformed in-house from .125" Kydex or Boltaron for a specific firearm and weapon light combination. This firearm-specific construction provides a secure fit, protects the trigger guard, and accommodates compatible slide-mounted optics and suppressor-height sights.

Two Levels of Retention

Passive retention: Dara's adjustable rubber retention system allows the user to fine-tune the resistance during the draw.

Active retention: The rotating hood locks over the firearm until the thumb-operated release is depressed. The spring-loaded hood then rotates forward, helping clear loose garments and providing a consistent draw stroke.

Unlike holsters that use an aftermarket retention hood, Dara's Level 2 system was engineered in-house as a complete duty holster. Its retention components, hardware, and holster body are designed to work together.

Adjustable for Your Duty Setup

The Light Bearing Level 2 Duty Holster is compatible with the Dara Level 2 Control Kit, allowing users to customize the thumb release for their hand size, gloves, and personal preference.

Compatible Dara duty attachments, including the DBL2 and DBL2-L, provide options for adjusting ride height, cant, and clearance from body armor. The Bridge Adapter also supports compatible third-party mounting systems.

Every holster is manufactured and fit tested in-house and backed by Dara's Lifetime Warranty.

Optics & Sight Compatibility
Designed to accommodate slide-mounted optics and suppressor-height sights, ensuring versatility for various duty or tactical setups. The REGULAR HOOD can accommodate optics up to 1.2" tall when measured from the top of the slide to the top of the optic. Anything taller than that will require the LARGE HOOD. If your optic measures in between, we recommend sizing up. For the Trijicon SRO or RMR HD, please check the box for a deeper optic cut.
Customizable Draw
Adjust the ride height and cant angles for optimal comfort and draw efficiency. Add an optional leg strap for extra stability, especially during high-intensity operations.
Attachment Options
Choose between our DBL2 or DBL2-L System, Both options provide clearance for body armor and a natural draw stroke, making this level 2 holster ideal for professional use. All attachments accommodate belt widths measuring 1.5" - 2.25".

Yes. We offer 2 rotating hood sizes to accommodate most optics on the market with very few exceptions. We also accommodate forward mounted optics such as the Trijicon RMR HD & Trijicon SRO.

Holster fits my Walther PDP like a glove. Love the action of the drop down hood. So satisfying to hear it snap down when I press the release button. Worth the wait as it was a pre-order holster.

I love the holster, the durability, the time and effort put into it and that this is the only company that has the option for the TLR-9 light, no other company gives you the option. The holster gives the user the ability to remove and insert mags without unholstering the weapon. I have AmeriGlo H3 FX suppressor sights and they fit in the weapon perfectly and still leave room for larger sights if there are any out there in the market. Its a very decent price for all that you are getting. So you make no mistake, there is a yellow stop tag zip tied to the holster advising the user on the torque settings. If you are in the market for a custom to your person holster Dara is the way to go

I was having a tough time finding a light compatible holster for my XDM 5.25....Safariland and a few other major manufacturers don't make a holster that fits the 5.25" barrel. I stumbled across Dara Holsters and thought I'd give them a try. I'm really impressed by this holster. It's very well made with quality materials, no sharp edges, and it fits the pistol and TLR-1 light perfectly. I'm getting my range belt setup and will very likely be buying more Dara Holsters for my other pistols. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dara.

Very well made holster, I love the level 2 retention mechanism and it fits very well. I didn't get the ALDQ with mine, but I regret that immediately. Overall great holster, would recommend.

I have tried many different holsters throughout the years and by far this is the absolute best! While I'm always looking for good gear, my loadout has constantly changed so I have had to constantly find a new holster to suffice the new equipment that is attached. This Level 2 Duty holster from Dara did not only meet the needed criteria, it has by far gone beyond my expectations and I do not believe I will ever find a better one. Right out of the box the level 1 tension us great. I need to tweak it a bit, but if needed you could run this in your kit immediately after opening. While there are a lot of companies with different types of level 2 retention, this mechanism on the Dara not only functions flawlessly, it also looks like something of the future. It is very sleek and streamlined for operation. Lastly is the actual fit of the holster in which I was most surprised. Surprised only because I have never owned a holster where when in place it fits like a plastic surgical glove! This is by no means an understatement. From how tight it fits to the cuts of the holster hugging every curve of the gun, flush throughout, it feels like just another part, and extention if the pistol itself. If I could give it 10 stars I would. At the price point it is VERY comparable to most others on the market, however you will never find a holster of this quality anywhere else! I would definitely, and only recommend this product.

I’ve tried many OWB holsters and Dara has been the best fit fit, finish, lead time, price and options by far. Carrying a G45, light bearing with red dot and suppressor height sights, Dara accommodated them all and DELIVERED. Fit was so perfect had to draw a couple dozen times to break in the kydex to my sidearm. Would and will recommend these to anyone. Will definitely be ordering more

Bullet proof material and construction, improved otpic protection. Have purchased this to upgrade to those features from my original Dara duty holster. Using the ALQD, which is great, eliminates the leg strap and sits closer to your body. Conforms to the pistol better than the previous model.

The drop offset is a separate piece that connects the double loop to the holster. the drop offset drops the holster down and offsets the grip from the body.
